Give the gift of Equine Assisted Therapy to children facing chronic and life threatening illnesses…

24 years ago on October 15th, 2001 we opened our barn doors to serve children and their families battling cancer and life threatening illnesses with our brand of equine therapy!

Angel Heart Farm is the only program that focuses on the whole family… no one fights alone.💛

We are doing a silent auction on Facebook, where you can bid on a Christmas horse wreath, our winter beanies and more.

All donations are appreciated, no matter how small.

We are incredibly grateful and honored to serve our families and look forward to many more years of serving our community. 🎗️ Thank you to everyone that supports, prays and cares about our children and families.💛

On this giving Tuesday, we wanted to share a few stories about a few of our beautiful children we are honored to serve.

Isla’s Story

First up is Isla💕we first met Isla two years ago while she was in the midst of treatment for a rare brain cancer. We were immediately in love with her sweet spirit, kindness and grace.  She picked Annie to be her equine partner, and oh what a pair they are.

From the first day her boots slipped into the stirrups, her smile and sheer excitement filled our hearts.

Isla has become an amazing young equestrian, not only in the saddle but her skills in grooming and showmanship. She competed last year at her first show with Annie and earned several ribbons, including a first place.

Last year She finished her all her chemotherapy, radiation, proton therapy and a host of other treatments and was doing great but this year she relapsed, a complete shock to everyone but in true Isla fashion she said she was ready to take on the task of kicking cancer yet again.

Her parents Finn and Kat and little brother Rueben along with her grandparents and dog Sam are her biggest cheerleaders. Her friends at school, teachers, her favorite horse Annie and pony Franny all know she is well on her way to complete healing.

She continues to come to the barn almost every week to spend time and work on her skills with Annie and Franny.  We are looking forward to the spring competitions, where she can shine once again in the show-ring.

In 2026, we will be launching our 25th year of the program but also our partnership with Dan Post Boots. Our very own Isla will be featured in the National ad campaign Stomp Out Childhood Cancer wearing boots designed with her in mind, and of course they are called the Isla.  More info coming on the boot campaign, but for now we are asking for prayers, love and support for our girl! We are immensely proud and honored to have this beautiful girl a part of the program.

Her cancer is rare, but she is a rare gem of a young lady.

Luke and Levi’s Story

This May we met two brothers Luke and Levi and their incredible parents Kent and Rebecca.

When a parent calls us to learn more about the program and how can their child participate, we usually learn about one child, not two!  This was a call that really shocked us.

First up is Levi, a six grader that has been through way too much in his 12 years on earth.  Open-heart surgery as an infant, multiple surgeries and just last year a major stroke.  Weeks in the hospital and rehabilitation out of state away from his big brother and daddy was rough, but this kid is tougher.  He and our horse Felix have a strong bond and learning to be a great pairing ! So good, they won two firsts and a second place at their first show in October. His therapist told his parents she was so impressed with the strength and hand eye coordination improvements since his riding journey.

Luke is the epitome of the quiet yet strong cowboy type.  In March, he was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma at the age of 16.  A champion wrestler, high school student and a supportive big brother to Levi, he started experiencing some pain, but he was growing taller and an athlete, so pain is par for the course until a family trip to DC, his pain was so severe they drove home to Nashville and straight to the emergency room at Vanderbilt where they learned the pain was a tumor  on his L2.  Admitted to the hospital and chemo journey began, then a 14 hour surgery to remove the tumor and back to chemo.

Luke met Nash a month before his surgery and an instant bond was made.  They are so much alike, a quiet confidence, handsome and kind.

One of the sweetest moments of the year was when Rebecca called me and said Luke wanted to come see Nash the day he was released from the hospital.  Let the healing truly begin.

Luke and Nash competed in their first show together (a first for both) and walked away with. First and two second places.  Let’s just say these two are perfectly matched!

On November 22 Luke rang the no more chemo bell and then celebrated at Hockey Fights Cancer Night !

A huge shoot out to Luke and Levi’s parents and entire family. To say they have been through a lot is an understatement, yet they stay strong in their faith and love for each other!

We are so proud of these two cowboys and their dedication and love for each other too!
